When you create multiple events through our recurring events system, there will be a parent(main) event. This parent event stores all the shared information between all the child events that are being created.
Child events are individual events for each time you want to sell tickets.
When you create and change the settings for your events, you need to be aware of 2 things:
Parent events - All settings are inherited for all children's events.
Children events - Here settings are set for the individual event only.
You can publicise your event by clicking the checkbox in the "Public" box. This can be done when you publish the event or later in the process. When this box is ticked, it will be searchable on our website and search engines like Google/Bing will also include these. To see if your events are public, click 'My Events' and then 'Edit' on the parent event. Then scroll down to the bottom of the page and check the box "public" for the check mark.Make sure to click Save/Publish after!
If you only want to enable this on a individual child events, click 'My Events' and 'Manage' on the Parent Event. Then find the desired children's event and click 'Edit'.Then scroll down to the bottom of the page and check the box "public" for the check mark. Make sure to click Save/Publish after!
If you want your event to be private you can uncheck the box 'public' and then say publish. Then your event will only be public to those you share your event link with.
Note: External Search Engines like Google and Yahoo can take some time to index your event page, there is nothing we can do to speed up this process for you. As long as the Public box is checked it will happen eventually.
