⚠️ Why You Need to Set a Focal Point
If you’re using Billetto’s POS system with a seating chart (powered by Seats.io), and you haven’t configured a focal point, the app will show the following error when you try to complete a ticket sale:
❗ Error: Please set focal point in seating chart
This error occurs because the system can’t determine the “best available” seats without a focal point.
🎯 What Is a Focal Point?
The focal point is used by the best seats available algorithm. It helps determine which seats are considered best — typically the ones closest to the front or center of the stage. Without it, Billetto’s POS can’t assign seating correctly when using automatic seat selection.
✅ How to Set the Focal Point in the Seating Chart
1. Go to Your Venue Management
-
Log in to Billetto and navigate to:
Manage → Venues
-
Click Edit next to the venue with a seating chart.
2. Open the Seating Chart Editor
-
Scroll down to the venue’s seating chart section.
3. Select the Focal Point Tool
-
From the toolbar on the left, click the target icon (Focal Point tool).
4. Place the Focal Point
-
Click on the area of the seating chart that represents the stage or focal view.
-
A bullseye marker will appear — you can move it to fine-tune its placement.
5. Save the Seating Chart
-
After setting the focal point, click Save in the bottom-right corner.
🎉 You’re All Set!
Once the focal point is saved, your POS system will:
-
Automatically assign the best available seats.
-
No longer show the “Please set focal point” error.
